"Excalibur, Answers
for parents and teachers with ADD/ADhD concerns" |
Inventing a disorder that millions of children can be branded with has been applied to diagnoses like bi-polar and anxiety, among others, where, once again, life's difficulties and traumas are redefined as diseases. Pharmaceutical companies make billions selling dangerous drugs that should never enter a child's body; schools get more compliant children; insurance companies have treatments to push that are much cheaper than addressing a child's real situation; psychiatry has more patients to bill for. From stories to statistics, The ADHD Fraud puts the medication of children to rest. | ||||||||

| "Sugars that heal" It sounds like a contradiction in terms, but it's the key to one of the most important breakthroughs in recent medical science. We've all been bombarded with warnings about the evils of consuming too much sugar. But, in fact, for our bodies to function properly, we need small amounts of eight essential sugars, only two of which--glucose and galactose--are commonly found in our limited, overprocessed diets. When all eight sugars are available, the health benefits can be breathtaking: Individuals regain their ability to fight disease, reactivate their immune systems, and are able to ward off infection. Based on cutting-edge research in the rapidly evolving science of glyconutrients, Sugars That Heal is an exciting new approach to health and disease prevention. |
"Natural Nutrition for Children" how difficult for a child is
it to function in school if he have learning disability - wether
it is fogy- brain, or hyperactivity, or any other mental/neurological-disability,
is one question. But finding a good help is even more difficult, but
no more! |

Managing The Gift I am a Person with ADD.
I have Attention Deficit Disorder. I was diagnosed way back in the
3rd grade. I am 24 years old now and was on Ritalin all theway up to
Concerta until just last year when I found out medication wasn't the
answer for my Add thanks to Dr. Kevin Ross Emery and his wonderful
Book Managing The Gift. It gives people wonderful insights on how Emotional
Coffee Breaks, good diet, good sleeping patterns, and protocols developed
by a medical intuition do really help those affected with ADD. Dr.
Krvin Ross Emery also goes to schools with parents to talk to teachers
about the child's IEP or Individualized Educational Plans and works
with thefamily and the student to make sure the child gets the adequate
and wonderful education the child deserves instead of labeling the
child with a disability. ADD is a gift not a disability. |
How to preserve a child's gift and
improve parenting skills Because I was an Edison Trait Child, I wasn't sure if I was reading the book for my son or for me! Many times I thought how much better our lives would have been if I had purchased this book earlier. Instead of struggling against the "strong will" of my son, this book provides parenting techniques, recognition skills and positive advice for Edison Trait kids and parents. Unfortunately, many school systems would rather have the child conform rather than take the time and effort necessary for Edison Trait children to learn most effectively. Indeed, the standardized "gifted" tests used in our school system are more geared to convergent thinking children, as is the program itself. The book needs to be followed up with a short assessment guide for parents and teachers. So often, the Edison Trait is confused with ADD as it was with my son. Rather than fight the perception, the assessment guide could be handed to teachers to help them understand the Edison Trait vs. ADD. Overall, the book provides incredible insights and is extremely well-written using colorful examples and humor. |

"Your Drug May Be Your
Problem" is an excellent book, your health depends on being informed. You won't find out the side effects from these drugs from your psychiatrist, so you better learn about them yourself. I only took haldol for six months and I have side effects that haven't dissapeared yet. I'm just hoping eventually they will but not all people taking these drugs are fortunate in this regard as you will find reading this book. I believe people in the psychiatric profession belong in jail for brain damaging people against their will with the courts backing them up. Anyways the best defense for your self is to become informed by reading Dr. Breggin's books. If the entire world were informed I guarantee you these people would be all out business like they should be. I work in a vitamin store you may find some natural solutions for your problems there. Good luck and read this book! |
Soar With Your Strengths A cornerstone to a better future.
Dr. Clifton's "Soar With Your Strengths" has helped me
to identify why my carreer has not taken off to this point. I can
see now that I have a tendency to focus on my weaknesses, while
at the same time making the mistake of overlooking my strengths and
ultimate potential. |

Life through the Eyes of an Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder Child "With terror in my heart, I can still remember sitting in emotional and almost physical pain at Palm Elementary School in Beaumont, California. It was fourth grade, and what was going on in the classroom was beyond my attention. That's because my mind had escaped. Looking out the window was my only escape from the endless monotony of the classroom. Being "jerked back" when the teacher called on me, was overwhelming and nauseating. I felt I had missed so much while being "spaced out" that the demands seemed insurmountable. I had no clue where to begin. Since I felt little hope of being rewarded for my feeble efforts, my biggest desire was to escape on another mental vacation. That is exactly what I did. My mind traveled out the window again -- even though I dimly knew that I was digging myself into a deeper hole. As self-defeating as this strategy was, it was my only defense."My understanding of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is deeply rooted in my own experience. I was an ADHD child. I am now a Ph.D. Clinical Psychologist. Parents, there is hope. |
